University of Texas McCombs School of Business Launches New Online Masters in Business Analytics

The University of Texas McCombs School of Business, a top 10 master’s in business analytics program according to U.S.News & World Report, will launch an online, part-time version of its popular Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) to meet growing demand for data science, business intelligence and data analytics professionals. Built with the expertise of Texas McCombs faculty, the new online master’s degree will help experienced professionals build and develop the foundational skills and competencies needed to advance in the ever-growing range of career opportunities, the process of transforming data into actionable insights for businesses.

The new part-time, online master’s is scheduled to launch in June 2023 as a 22-month,36-credit hour program designed to meet the needs and schedules of working professionals. Students will progress through the program as a cohort, which will blend some face-to-face classroom instruction on weekends alongside high-quality synchronous instruction and asynchronous lecture formats.

To help meet demand for graduate-level courses and degree programs in business analytics, the university selected iDesign, which has worked with more than 100 institutions to design, build and support award-winning online courses. A team of veteran learner experience designers and digital marketers from iDesign will collaborate with Texas McCombs program leaders, administrators, and faculty to design and market the new online master’s degree program on an unbundled, fee-for-service basis.

“As the competitive landscape for online courses and programs grows more competitive, students are becoming increasingly discerning about the quality of the online experience and the payoff that they can expect in the labor market,” said Paxton Riter, co-founder and CEO of iDesign. “This is about translating the quality and rigor of the in-person experience into a virtual and online environment by putting faculty experts in control of course and program design.”
